Wedding Vows Obey ,Once upon a time, thankfully not ours, women were considered property. Marriage contracts were usually a financial transaction. A large amount of negotiation would take place before a marriage to settle on the price of the bride, with the poor woman's pawn everything. Did not have many options for those who are married. "Love is for the poor because they do not care if they die of hunger, because they are" was the belief.

When they were led to the altar, seems to be so docile. The truth is that some were drugged usually so as not to escape. The practice of being veiled was adopted as a way for the groom not see the tears of the bride. Women have to say out loud that they would love, honor and obey the man who was now her husband and that was it.

With the liberation of women, this is no longer the case. The ladies can choose their partners, whether for profit or for love, maybe even two. They are considered equal to men who marry and, as such, the votes have been changed to love, honor and cherish.

According to Wikipedia, Pagan is a term broadly used to describe anyone who is not essentially Christian or Jewish. Therefore, a general classification, how does one determine exactly what is a pagan wedding?

Well, this is what you want they are. A pagan wedding ceremony is as unique as people join. But here are some things to consider:

Pagan weddings are indeed legally binding ... that is, if you want to be. Of course, I'm not a lawyer - but, if they meet the requirements of the states of a legally binding marriage, it does not really matter what your wedding ceremony is. Of course, some people choose to have a handfasting ritual, where they are essentially engaged for a year and a day before deciding whether to marry or not. Or you can choose to keep the ritual to celebrate their love for each other without a legally binding marriage. Its all up to you.
